TIME SAVING EASTER CAKE

Welcome to Foodie Friday TLB friends!

Do you have days that as soon as your feet hit the floor in the morning you are constantly on the move?  And then at the end of the day, as the sun sets, you wonder why you are so exhausted?

Never fear, we all have those days. That's why in today's blog I've shaved some time off the preparation of Easter dessert for you!

GOLD GILDED POTTERY

Happy Tuesday TLB friends!

Today's DIY was prompted by a need I had in my own home. There are certain houseplants that I love and I scatter them about. But sometimes the containers I see them in the stores just don't have much pizazz.

I decided to add a little glitz to a clay pot by using fine gold leaf paper. No longer do we have to be stuck with a clay colored pot....come check out how easy it is to transform something plain into something beautiful!

Oh So Yummy.....Marshmallow Sweet Potato Loaves

Welcome to Foodie Friday TLB friends!

Do you like quick breads? Today's recipe kind of reminds me of either pumpkin bread or carrot cake, however, it's actually called Marshmallow Sweet Potato Loaves. These little breads bake into the cutest little loaves, and are topped with broiled marshmallows.  Yes, just like the gooey marshmallows in S'mores!

COME ON OVER TO CHECK THEM OUT........

HOME SWEET HOME TEXAS #2

Welcome TLB friends!

We flew back to Texas Sunday afternoon and drove directly to the house. My last blog post was photos taken thru February 8th. With the weather in Texas cooperating our crew of 7 men has been able to do all of this in only 1 week!

PARIS FOR VALENTINE'S DAY!

 Happy Valentine's Day TLB friends!

I recently had a conversation with my sister where we discussed a Paris trip that hubby and I took a few years ago. With Valentine's day being right around the corner, I thought our Paris trip would make a great Valentine blog. As I browsed my photos all of the memories started flooding back.

Paris is such an amazing city. It is rich in history, is home to some of the most
beautiful architecture, amazing food, and markets.

The Champs Elysees is one of the world's most lovely and talked about streets in the world.......

Visit the Rue Cler Market---

We enjoyed the panoramic views from the Eiffel Tower where we overlooked the Trocadero, and the Seine River. We feasted on delicious food and outstanding wine.....and the company was great!

Our final evening in Paris was a romantic dinner cruise on the River Seine. We again enjoyed another delicious dinner complete with champagne and enjoyed glorious views of the Parisian Boulevards as we floated down the river.

It was truly a night to remember!

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

PERFECT LENTEN SANDWICH

Welcome to Foodie Friday TLB friends!

Last weekend I made a new sandwich for hubby. It went over so well, I thought I would share the recipe with all of you. It's the perfect accompaniment to a hot bowl of soup, and a great recipe to make during the upcoming Lenten season. This year Ash Wednesday, or the first day of Lent, is on February 10th.

COUNTER DEPTH REFRIGERATOR OR STANDARD DEPTH

Welcome TLB friends,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and those of you that are in the East have recovered from the storm. We enjoyed a lovely weekend in Texas, with temps in the 70's....sure hope it stays this way for a bit!

For the past few weekends hubby and I have been taking advantage of sales on furniture, TV's and refrigerators. In the new house our family room furniture will be moved to the game room, hence the need for new family room furniture. And a refrigerator does not come in our kitchen package from the builder, so that was also a necessary purchase.
