TIME SAVING EASTER CAKE

Welcome to Foodie Friday TLB friends!

Do you have days that as soon as your feet hit the floor in the morning you are constantly on the move?  And then at the end of the day, as the sun sets, you wonder why you are so exhausted?

Never fear, we all have those days. That's why in today's blog I've shaved some time off the preparation of Easter dessert for you!

After preparing all of the special Easter dishes, baking the ham and setting the table, the last thing you feel like is turning into Martha Stewart baking a fancy dessert. But Grandma likes her dessert.......so I've come up with an easy solution! Come take a peek.
Isn't this the cutest cake?

Pretty impressive huh? This cake will bring a smile to everyone in the family!

Here's what you will need to make this beauty!

Ingredients:

1--store bought chocolate layer cake, frosted
2--pkgs. flat Peeps 1-pink 1-yellow
1--small bag of coconut
1--bottle green food coloring
1--small bag of jelly beans

Smooth out the decorated frosting on the top of the cake. Then separate the Peeps where they are joined together. Alternating by color, press the Peeps into the frosting on the sides of the cake.

Pour a small amount of shredded coconut into a bowl, and add a few drops of green food coloring, stopping once you have reached the appropriate grassy green color.

Spread a good amount of coconut on the top of the cake over the frosting, making sure there are no bare spots showing through. Mound some jelly beans in the center. Take 2 Peeps and push a toothpick in the bottom of each, making it easy to have them stand upright in them center of the cake.

It's that easy! I've used my DIY Gold Gilded Pottery for the silverware (Blog 2/22/16), and on a recent trip to Homegoods these little bunny plates jumped right into my cart! Aren't they the sweetest?

It's that easy, and now you've not only made Grandma happy, but all of your family and friends will be too! Think of the sweet smiles on the children, no matter what age they may be.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend......take time for yourself and ENJOY!
