APPLE PIE BARS

Welcome to Foodie Friday friends!

It's not Fall without a delicious Apple Pie or maybe an Apple Pie Bar. What is an Apple Pie Bar? Just feast your eyes on these.....

From the bottom up....the bars start with some of the following ingredients:  flour, both granulated sugar, and light brown sugar, butter and of course cinnamon that forms the crust of the bar and also the topping.

Excerpt from directions:
Cream the butter and sugars, mix ingredients together as per recipe and press into a 13 x 9 inch baking dish.

Refrigerate the crust for 20 minutes. In the meantime prepare the apple filling below.

Pour over the top of the chilled crust, add the remainder of the crust crumbling it over top of the fruit, and bake at 375 degrees for 18-20 minutes.

If you love a delicious apple pie, these Apple Pie Bars from Ina Garten will be a welcome addition to your recipe repertoire and they are much easier than fussy pie crust! I served them warm from the oven, and they were a big hit with hubby!

Follow the link to the full recipe that can also be found in Ina's new cookbook--Cooking for Jeffrey.

I think that even Johnny Appleseed himself would approve of these delish bars!

Have a wonderful weekend!
