MY DAUGHTER'S SHOWER & ENGAGEMENT PARTIES

What a busy weekend! Hubby and I hopped on a plane and headed East to our daughter and son-in-law to be's Bridal shower and Engagement party. The weather was beautiful during the day for the shower, but decided to rain a bit during the Engagement party. Spirits were not dampened by the rain. We were so excited to celebrate this very special time in our daughter and son-in-law to be's life!

On Saturday morning, my sister hosted a beautiful Bridal Shower Brunch at a local restaurant. She chose Navy and white stripe runners and accented the tables with white hobnail vases full of yellow roses, seeded eucalyptus, purple thistle, white hydrangeas, succulents, and dusty miller. The colors in the arrangements added just enough color to the navy and white theme. Placed at each guest's place setting was a tiny succulent plant wrapped in burlap and tied with a navy ribbon. Simple white place settings and napkins finished the tablescape. It was simple and lovely!

On Saturday evening my daughter's two girlfriends hosted an Engagement Party for the happy couple. These girls thought of every detail. The party was hosted at one of the girls recently built home. It was a lovely setting for this special evening.

When entering through the front double doors into the foyer, the warm and elegant decor was such a perfect setting for this party. Guests were able to mingle from one spacious room to another. Her open concept kitchen allowed entertaining to be easy for conversing from the family room, and her screen enclosed patio was a wonderful place to sit and hold your plate while enjoying the delicious food that the girls had provided.

Below are photos of my daughter and her finance, followed by my daughter's two friends
that made this evening so magical for all of us. The attention to detail was not lost on any guest.....it was truly a well thought out magical evening!

The photo collage below begins with a peek into the dining room where all of the sweets were displayed. On each end of the table were wooden tiered trays. Each contained a delicious white cupcake with white frosting. Everyone was raving about these cupcakes! There were many more well thought out touches that I have not included in my blog, but they did not go unnoticed by any guest!

In staying within the theme of the evening, there were clear bags containing a sugar cookie in the shape of a star with the bride and grooms initials. The bride and groom "branding," below was used on the sticker closure of each cookie bag.

The second photo of the kitchen island is only one example of the delicious food (Charcuterie platter) that was served. The entire island was filled with Mediterranean dishes like orzo, chicken, beef and shrimp skewers, hummus and pita bread and much much more.

Last, but not least the photo of the pool/patio area. The patio was set up in long farm table formation, covered with white linens and navy runners. Tops of the tables contained white Hydrangea vases adding such a beautiful touch. The lighting added a softness to the area picking up the beauty of the blue pool and the elegance of the farm tables.

In closing today.....my husband and I are so grateful and thankful to my sister for hosting such a beautiful shower for our daughter, her special touches were seen everywhere. We also want to thank  A and J for the "wonderfully beautiful and thoughtful" party they hosted for our daughter and son-in-law-to-be. The evening was magical in so many ways. Most importantly we feel "blessed" that you are an important part of our daughter's life!

It's not often that I share my personal family life on TLB.....I hope all of my TLB friends have enjoyed a peek into a very special family moment in my life!

Have a wonderful week!

Kathleen
